I’ve been a record collector for five decades, amassing a personal archive of vinyl, CDs, and pretty much every audio format that’s come and gone. 8-tracks? MiniDiscs? Been there, done that, still have them boxed up somewhere.

It all started when I was 8, trying to hold onto my favorite songs without waiting for Cyprus’s lone radio station to maybe spin an international hit. What began as a casual hobby quickly turned into an obsession. By my teens, I had a mission: collect every 45" single that hit the UK Top 20. I kept that streak going from 1980 to mid-1986, the year I moved to the U.S., missing only the odd novelty single that never made it to local record shops.

Today, my collection includes over 5,000 LPs, 3,000 singles (45s and 12-inches), and 3,000+ CDs. These days I focus mostly on vinyl reissues of my all-time favorites: ABBA, Kate Bush, and Duran Duran.
